2026 Pro Median: ~800 eDPI
Middle 50% Tier: 708 – 960 eDPI

In 2026 pro player datasets, the median sensitivity is approx. 800 eDPI. The majority of players cluster around 700–1000 eDPI. (Source: CSDB Pro Sens Dataset, n=821 active pros)

This classification does not imply inherently good or bad. Personal preference depends on mousepad size, mouse weight, grip style, and habits.

What is eDPI and Why is it the Standard in CS2?

eDPI (Effective Dots Per Inch) represents the product of your mouse hardware DPI and your in-game sensitivity multiplier. Even if two players use entirely different hardware DPIs (e.g. 400 DPI vs 800 DPI), having the same eDPI means they achieve identical crosshair rotation with the same physical mouse movement.

Example: 400 DPI × 2.0 Sens = 800 eDPI. Likewise, 800 DPI × 1.0 Sens = 800 eDPI. Both setups provide the exact same rotation distance and crosshair feel.

Theoretical cm/360 Calculation and m_yaw

Counter-Strike 2 uses a default horizontal m_yaw multiplier of 0.022. The theoretical distance in centimeters required for a full 360° turn is calculated using default m_yaw (0.022) with this formula:

eDPI = DPI × Sensitivity
Teorik cm/360 = (360 × 2.54) / (eDPI × m_yaw) ≈ 41563.636 / eDPI (m_yaw=0.022 için)
in/360 = cm/360 / 2.54

Note: This is a theoretical distance. Sensor DPI deviation, mousepad friction, and surface conditions may introduce slight millimeter variations in practice.

CS2 Pro Player eDPI Distribution & Sensitivity Ranges

eDPI Range Aiming Style Average cm/360 Intended Use & Example
< 600 eDPI Very Low Sens > 69.3 cm High crosshair stability and micro precision. Requires large mousepad and arm movements.
600 – 700 eDPI Low Sens 59.4 – 69.3 cm Düşük hassasiyet aralığı; spray kontrolü ve sabit crosshair yerleşimine odaklanır (örnek: NiKo ~652 eDPI).
700 – 1000 eDPI Common Competitive Range 41.6 – 59.4 cm A large portion of competitive pro players cluster in this range. A balanced sweet spot between precision and reactive tracking.
1000 – 1200 eDPI Mid-High Sens 34.6 – 41.6 cm Hızlı 180° arkaya dönüşler ve çevik crosshair kontrolü sağlar (örnek: donk 1000 eDPI, m0NESY 920 eDPI).
1200+ eDPI High Sens < 34.6 cm Quick 180° turns with less physical mouse travel. Requires strong hand-eye coordination and fine wrist control.
< 600 eDPI > 69.3 cm/360

High crosshair stability and micro precision. Requires large mousepad and arm movements.

600 – 700 eDPI 59.4 – 69.3 cm/360

Düşük hassasiyet aralığı; spray kontrolü ve crosshair kararlılığına odaklanır (örnek: NiKo ~652 eDPI).

700 – 1000 eDPI 41.6 – 59.4 cm/360

A large portion of competitive pro players cluster in this range. A balanced sweet spot between precision and reactive tracking.

1000 – 1200 eDPI 34.6 – 41.6 cm/360

Hızlı 180° arkaya dönüşler ve çevik crosshair kontrolü sağlar (örnek: donk 1000 eDPI, m0NESY 920 eDPI).

1200+ eDPI < 34.6 cm/360

Quick 180° turns with less physical mouse travel. Requires strong hand-eye coordination and fine wrist control.

Frequently Asked Questions About CS2 eDPI & Sensitivity

How is CS2 eDPI calculated?

eDPI is calculated by directly multiplying your mouse hardware DPI by your CS2 in-game sensitivity (e.g. 800 DPI × 1.1 sens = 880 eDPI).

What is a good eDPI for CS2?

There is no universal best setting. However, in 2026 pro player datasets, the median is approx. 800 eDPI, with most players falling between 700 and 1000 eDPI. The best setting is one that matches your mousepad space, grip style, and aiming comfort.

Is there a difference between 400 DPI and 800 DPI if eDPI is the same?

When maintaining the same eDPI, physical turn distance is identical. Higher DPI technically provides higher sensor resolution, but on modern mouse sensors the practical difference between 400, 800, and 1600 DPI is small for most players and varies by hardware.

What does cm/360 mean?

It indicates the exact physical distance in centimeters that your mouse must travel on your mousepad to perform a full 360-degree rotation in-game.

How do I keep the same sensitivity when changing mouse DPI?

To keep the exact same eDPI, use the formula: (Current DPI × Current Sens) / New DPI. For instance, moving from 800 DPI with 1.10 sens to 1600 DPI requires 0.550 in-game sensitivity. Use the 'Change DPI' tab above for instant calculation.

Does Windows mouse speed affect CS2?

CS2 utilizes the Source 2 engine's Raw Input by default. Therefore, Windows pointer speed or acceleration sliders do not impact your CS2 sensitivity.
